Each day Farroo shows you 5 pairs of places on a map, from neighbouring towns to cities on opposite sides of the world. Slide along the scale (or use ÷2, −, + and ×2) to the distance you think separates them, then lock it in to see the real straight-line distance, the route over the globe and a short fact.
Scoring is by ratio, not by difference. Within 5% of the real distance scores 100 points, half or double scores 50, and 4 times off scores 0. The best possible daily score is 500.
How far is London from Paris? How far is New York from Los Angeles? How far is Sydney from Auckland? How far is Hanoi from Ho Chi Minh City? Every day mixes short hops, cross-country trips and long-haul flights, so it works as a geography quiz and a map game. The answers to every question are in all distances.
A new set of 5 arrives every day at midnight in your local time.
Yes. Farroo is free to play in your browser, with no account or download. Your streak and best score are saved on your own device.
Guessroo's mascot is a kangaroo, and every answer is also compared with a red kangaroo, so you can feel the distance.
